Program Description
Targeted Violence Interruption Program, located in the Historic Pleasant Hill community in Macon GA. The location is a Cure Violence Global (CVG) site. CVG is a well-researched international model that uses a public health approach to addressing gun violence.

The model utilizes credible messengers to engage those drivers of community violence by:

• Directly intervening to disrupt and interrupt violence 
• Redirects those drivers of violence to productive pathways through relationship building and case management
• Changing the narrative about what is acceptable in community through hosting events and public education

In our first year of operation, the county increase in gun homicides by around 12%. Conversely the neighborhood Project HERO operated in saw a 33% decrease in gun homicides.
